Star Intervention and Pre-K Jumpstart Literacy Intervention Tutoring Programs are designed to provide students with individualized tutoring in a one to one and/or small group educational setting. ©BroadwayStars will develop students’ foundational skills to mastery levels through meaningful concrete learning in Phonological/Phonemic Awareness and/or Cardinality. BroadwayStars will aid in preventing academic failure with an early assessment, research-based instruction, and biweekly progress monitoring. Students will gain greater academic success through foundational skill development and academic assessments. Early assessments are an important part of prevention of at-risk readers, even at the preschool level. Scientifically based reading research has shown that it is important for preschool age children to develop early reading skills for continued school success. Students who perform poorly on phonemic awareness tasks in kindergarten and 1st grade are often well behind their peers in reading at the end of the 3rd grade. BroadwayStars will develop and/or improve foundational skills in literacy through a mastery approach in a one to one and/or small group setting.
